Regardless of what you think of the ending, this trilogy is a masterpiece of interactive storytelling.
I mean, there really isn't much that needs to be said that hasn't already. I just completed the entire trilogy again 5 minutes ago, more or less 100% everything, almost 8000 GaW score at the end of ME3.
I think it works best to finish the game at this point and play the final part of citadel as a flashback after the credits but again playing before the Cerberus headquarters works as well. Breaking it up like this makes it feel a bit more integrated into the story and doesn’t mess with the pacing of the back half as much or introduce inconsistencies with the protean vi on thessia. Then do part 3 after horizon so the revelations are are close to the end as possible leading into the endgame. Then do Part 2 after thessia so you don’t immediately have another win with horizon. Then you can spread out the hangouts on the silversun strip and apartment through the rest of the game rather than running back and forth trying to unlock all the emails.įor the party do it at the point of no return or do it when the game loads the auto save after “one more story” and play it as a flashback of sorts to end on a bittersweet note knowing what is about to come.Īs for Leviathan I think it fits better broken up with part 1 after rannoch and the story section of the Citadel DLC to set the tone for Thessia. The light hearted tone also fits better than the before the assault on Cerberus because you just destroyed a reaper and presumably made peace with the Geth and quatrains.
For anyone looking for a way to integrate the DLC into ME3 I’d say Omega fits best after the Coup and before the rannoch arc as that’s the first break in the story.įor the Citadel DLC do the story mission after Rannoch before talking to the asari councilor as that’s the second break in the story.
